SD 001 - HAPPY SONG (calls 1-53, Mainstream Program,* flip**)
This record has a one-of-a-kind opener and peppy music. Includes some harmony singing.

SD 002 - GORDO'S QUADRILLE*** (calls 1-19, flip)
This record has a nice quadrille for practice in the Diamond Program. This record is also used for the Kingston Flyer, a delightful contra type of dance that is named for a train in New Zealand That used to run from Kingston to Lumsen. Instructions for The Kingston Flyer is included with the record.

SD 003 - MY BONNIE LIES OVER THE OCEAN (calls 1-13, flip)
This is a neat novelty square dance, easy to teach and easy to dance. It is a popular sing-along.

SD 004 - WESTERN QUADRILLE (calls 1-19, flip)
Lively music for an easy quadrille for practice in the Diamond Program.

SD 005 - MAGGIE (calls 1-50, Mainstream Program, flip)
This record is for the caller and dancer who has gone beyond the Diamond and Double Diamond Program and into the Mainstream Program (calls 1-67). It is a traditional and pleasing piece of music.

A gentle, unique quadrille for practice with the calls 1-19.

A fine record for practice in dancing calls 1-20 and to use in introducing the Grand Square.

SD 009 - GRAND SQUARE SIX QUADRILLE (calls 1-20, flip)
Peppy music and an unusual use of Grand Square makes this a prize record. Good practice record for calls 1-20.

SD 010 - ALWAYS (calls 1-23, flip)
Good record (nice, smooth music) for practice with the Mainstream Program.

SD 011 - DIAMOND HOEDOWN (calls 1-12, flip)
This is a popular hoedown for practice in the Diamond Program using calls 1-12. Also a great patter record for the caller of any program.

SD 012 - STAND BY ME (calls 1-63, flip)
Outstanding music of a favorite song for some nice, smooth dancing using Mainstream calls (1-63).

Once learned, many dancers prefer to dance to the music without cues.

FIRST STEPS A - SD 1001 BLUEBIRD / SHOEMAKER / TIN SOLDIER
This is the first in a series of records for use by teachers to help build a foundation of skills which will later help them learn to square dance. The First Steps Programs will teach: LATERALITY, LISTENING SKILLS, FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS, COURTESY, SlMPLE DANCES, and DANCING lN RHYTHM WITH MUSIC.

FlRST STEPS B - SD 1002 CHILDREN'S POLKA / SKIP TO MY LOU / ROUND AND ROUND THE VILLAGE
This is another in the series of First Steps Mini Albums to help the student build a foundation of skills for square dancing as listed above in SD 1001. These dances are fun to dance and the music is delightful.

SD-1001 AND SD-1002 ARE $6.50 ea.


* MAINSTREAM refers to a program for club square dancers. It includes 67 calls.
** FLIP: These records are called on one side and music only on the flip side.
*** A Quadrille is a square dance of French origin performed by four couples.

 

SD 500 - EASY DANCES AND MIXERS #1: ROCKIN' / JT MIXER / HI NEIGHBOR
Three lively, easy, and enjoyable mixers. Although the music is very different for each dance, the steps used have enough in common so they can all three be taught in a short time. Each is written as a mixer, but can easily be changed to no-partner dances. Instructions for both versions included in album.

SD 501 - CIRCLE AND SQUARE DANCES: GRAND OLD FLAG / GOOD TIME SQ / CIRCLES & PROM / LET'S ALL STAR
Each dance has been choreographed to dance equally well in either a square with four couples or a circle with any number of couples. Uses calls I-8 on the 1990 Callerlab list of calls.

SD 502 - PROMENADES AND STARS: ELVIRA / PROMENADE TIME / HAPPY SONG / STAR TIME
This album is appropriate for grades 4-Adult and Includes great dances to practice calls 1-8.

SD 503 - EASY DANCES AND MIXERS #2: OH JOHNNY / PATTY CAKE POLKA / BINGO
Three all-time favorite classic circle mixers. One side of the record is cued with the dances, the other side is music only so dancers who know the dances can enjoy the nice music and creative teachers can present interesting variations of the dances.

SD 504 - Y'ALL COME: SEPARATE / Y'ALL COME / CHAINS / NUMBERS
This album offers instructional and practice material to help dancers learn the calls in the Diamond Program (calls 1-20). Those calls are fully described in the FUNDAMENTALS OF SQUARE DANCING, LEVEL I album with the exception of two calls: Pass Thru and Separate. Directions for these two calls are included on the insert in album SD 504. The call Separate is featured on a practice band of album (SD 504).

SD 505 - FRIENDS DANCING: ARM TURNS / FRIENDS' QUADRILLE / SPLIT THE OPPOSITE / GONNA BUILD A MOUNTAIN
This album offers more square dance instructional and practice material to help dancers learn the calls in the Diamond Program (calls 1-20).

SD 506 - VIRGINIA REEL: (for six couples):
The Virginia Reel has a rich history and is a traditional favorite of dancers everywhere, young and old alike. Early versions of this dance were done in long lines and took an hour or more to dance. This version is designed for six couples, a peppy, fast moving variation that is easy to learn and fun to dance.

SD 507 - NINE PIN SQUARE:
This is a novel dance done in a square formation with an extra person in the center as the Nine Pin. When the command is given for all the gents (or ladies) to star in the middle, the others join the Nine Pin in the middle and make a star. When the command is given to "Break and Swing," bedlam breaks loose! There's five in the center and only four on the outside, the one left without a partner is The new Nine Pin. This dance will bring lots of fun and excitement to your square dance program. Use it sparingly; save it for special occasions.

SD 508 - DEBORAH: WALKIN' AFTER MIDNIGHT / OH LONESOME ME / KEEP ON SMILING / CORNER SWING
This album offers instructional and practice material to help dancers learn the calls in the Diamond Program (calls 1-20). This record includes calls 1-16. Side A is called by Deborah Parnell who is one of the most popular callers in square dancing. On Side B of the record Jack Murtha calls a novelty dance that features the call Swing. Also included is a short, instructional lesson on swinging your corner.

SD 510 - EASY DANCES AND MIXERS #3: EASY ACHY BREAKY / CHASIN' RAINBOWS / FRIENDSHIP RING
These are three delightful new dances for couples. All have proven enjoyable to both young children and adults. Each dance is cued on one side of the record, on the other side is music only (without cues). Once the dance is learned, many dancers prefer to dance to the music without cues.
